Create New Profile Help
This
screen is used to define test profiles and save them for future use. The controller will execute these test
profiles in a series of successive steps when run in auto mode. The screen is set up with a graphical chart
which will display the profile as it is created Each step is defined one at a
time in the data boxes below while the entire profile is displayed on the
graph. In addition to the standard menu
bar at the bottom of the screen, the following buttons are available.
-Step type: touching this box will bring
up a multiple choice box with the following options:
-Dwell:
control the constant temperature set point.
-Ramp:
control to a different set point than the one presently at.
-End:
the last step of the profile.
This step shuts down all outputs (heat, cool, vibration, fans, etc.)
-Temp (°C): Touching this box will give a numeric touch
pad to enter a temperature set point the chamber will control to.
-Not a #: Touching
this box will toggle between two values:
-Off:
the controller will continue to the set point entered in the temp
(°C) field.
-On:
the controller will not control to any temperature.
-Vibe (Grms): Touching this box will give a numeric pad to
enter vibration level set point the chamber will control to in GRMS.
-Ramp Rate (°C/min): Touching this box will give a numeric touch
pad to enter the rate the chamber will attempt to ramp between
temperatures. This field is only active
when the step type was selected as ramp.
-Dwell Time: This field is actually three fields used to
define how long a dwell step will last.
Touching the first field will bring up a touch pad to define the number
of hours. Touching the second field will
bring up a touch pad to define the number of minutes, and touching the third
field will bring up a touch pad to define the number of seconds for the dwell
time. These fields are active only when
the step type is defined as dwell.
-Go to Step #: Touching this box will give a numeric touch
pad to enter the step number that the profile will return to after the
completion of the step currently being defined.
This data is used for creating loops within profiles.
-Loop # Times: Touching this box will bring up a numeric pad
to enter the number of times the profile should return to the step number
entered in the “go to step #” field.
-Boost Heat: Touching this box will give a numeric pad to
enter a value for boost heat. The value
entered represents the amount (beyond set point). For example, if the set point is 100 °C and
10 is entered for boost heat, the controller will control the air temperature
to 110 °C until the “product temperature” reaches 100 °C, then it will slowly
lower the air temperature to 100 °C.
-Boost Cool: Touching this box will give a numeric pad to
enter a value for boost heat. The value
entered represents the amount of allowable, controlled over-shoot for the air
temperature (beyond set point). For
example, if the set point is –40 °C and 10 is entered for boost cool, the
controller will control the air temperature to –50 °C until the “product
temperature” reaches –40 °C, and then it will slowly raise the air temperature
to –40 °C.
-Gar Soak: Touching this box will define the guaranteed
soak feature "on" or "off" for that particular step. If the guaranteed soak is turned on, the
control temperature must be at the set point plus or minus the value entered in
the FS Deadband field. If the temperature drifts from this band
width, the dwell timer is paused until the temperature is within the band width
again.
-GS Deadband: Touching this box will give a numeric pad to
enter the number of degrees the chamber temperature should be within (above or
below) the set point for the dwell time to be counting.
-Events:
Each event has a box that is touched to define the event as
"on" or "off". When
defining a step, the definition of the events from the previous step will be
copied to the new step. If a new configuration
is required for the current step, simply touch the appropriate box to change
its state. This feature is to make the
programming of profiles as quick and easy as possible.
-New Profile: Touching this button will clear all steps and
set points that may be in the controller’s current memory. This will allow you to start defining a new
profile from scratch. Note that touching
this button does not delete any profiles that have been saved.
-Open file: Touching this button will allow you to open
any previously saved profile for viewing or editing.
-Save File: Touching this button will allow you to save
the profile currently being edited.
-Delete File: Touching this button
will bring up a list of all previously saved profiles. Any of these
can be deleted by selecting it from the list of touching YES.
-Insert:
Touching this button will insert a new step before the step currently
being edited.
-Delete:
Touching this button will delete the step currently being edited.
-Next:
Touching this button will bring up the next step to define in the
sequence.
-Step:
Touching this button will bring up a numeric key pad which can be used
to go directly to any step desired (1 to 50)
