MANUAL MODE HELP SCREEN

This screen is used for controlling the chamber manually on a step by step basis as opposed to AUTO MODE where the controller will follow a series of set points in sequence.  MANUAL MODE only changes set points when a new one is entered by the user.  In addition to the standard menu at the bottom of the screen, the following buttons are available:

The following buttons are in the upper temperature section:

Control The:  Touching this box will allow selecting whether the controller uses the PART TEMP thermocouple control signal, or the AIR TEMP thermocouple (located in the plenum) as the control signal.

Set Point:  Touching this box will give a numeric pad to enter the temperature set point the chamber will control to.

Product temp:  This box will continually display the current temperature measured by the PART TEMP thermocouple located in the chamber workspace.

Air temp:   This box will continually display the current temperature measured by the AIR TEMP thermocouple located in the chamber plenum.

Boost Heat:  Touching this box will give a numeric pad to enter a value for BOOST HEAT.  The value entered represents the amount (beyond set point).  For example, if the set point is 100 °C and 10 is entered for boost heat, the controller will control the air temperature to 110 °C until the PRODUCT TEMP reaches 100 °C, then it will slowly lower the AIR TEMP to 100 °C.

Boost Cool:  Touching this box will give a numeric pad to enter a value for BOOST COOL.  The value entered represents the amount of allowable, controlled over-shoot for the AIR TEMP (beyond set point).  For example, if the set point is –40 °C and 10 is entered for BOOST COOL, the controller will control the air temperature to –50 °C until the PRODUCT TEMP reaches –40 °C, then it will slowly raise the AIR TEMP to –40 °C.

Run:  Touching this box will start the chamber controlling to the temperature set point that has been entered.  If that chamber was already controlling to a set point in MANUAL MODE, there is no need to touch this box again.  If the chamber is controlling to a set point, touching this box will turn it OFF and the controller will stop controlling temperature.
